Livia Bitton-Jackson
{BEFORE THE WAR}
Livia Bitton-Jackson, born Elli L. Friedmann, grew up in Somorja, Czechoslovakia. Somorja became Å amorin while occupied by Hungary, so throughout the war the name changed many times. She was born on February 28, 1931. Elli lived with her parents and older brother Bubi. Bubi was a role model to Elli, and she looked forward to enrolling in the same prep school that he went to in Budapest. However, everything changed as the war began. Elli was thirteen years old when her life changed forever.
